You can never be sure of finding the best baby sitter no matter how hard the time you spent into searching. Some applicant may just have some good references. Some appear to be the best during interviews but in the end they may just be as lousy and problematic than you did not expect them to be.

1. She brings a guest into your house without asking your permission.

This is a major offense because a visitor can divide her attention. Especially if your child is an infant and needs a lot of attention, this will not be so good. You could warn her for these or get her fired for good.

2. She overuses your computer, telephone or television.

Shes not just abusing the use of your electricity; she is also putting a barrier to her main tasks. This is so common to teenage baby sitters. If this does not strain you a lot, you may as well give her a warning. If you have already warned her and your kids report that she does nothing else, then you could propose a salary deduction or you may find a new baby sitter.

3. She destroys a valuable or an appliance during her stay.

Some baby sitters want to use the appliances while you are not around and it always happens that an appliance is not used properly and will end up being destroyed. You may just forgive her if you gave her permission to use such appliance but failed to instruct her on how to use it. To be safe, tour the babysitter beforehand and teach them how to use the various appliances.

Sanctions can come in different forms; you may let her pay the damage through salary deduction.
